Departing the Wasteland, the new album by Finnish pianist and composer Alexi Tuomarila, marks the beginning of a new creative flowering for him and also 20 years of playing with the trio that’s at the heart of the album: Mats Eilertsen on bass and Olavi Louhivuori on drums.

D.O.P.A. is a four-member band founded by guitar virtuoso Timo Kämäräinen, featuring musicians well-known in jazz circles: pianist Alexi Tuomarila, drummer Tuomas Timonen and bassist Juho Kanervo.

The band's instrumental music combines the musicians' multidimensional genre backgrounds, bringing striking musical elements to the compositions. In this captivating music, you can hear influences of prog, jazz, and electropop, introducing an intriguing and bold new addition to the European music scene.

Pianist Alexi Tuomarila, who has garnered international attention with his own trio; Kaisa Mäensivu, the artistic director of Savoy JAZZFest and a rising star in her current hometown of New York; and Joe Peri (USA), who has captivated audiences with his swinging and masterful performances in numerous top-tier groups.
