Keep North is a trio of international musicians with incredible individual track records, and together they form one of the most powerful Nordic bands on the scene. Comprised of Lionel Beuvens on drums, Alexi Tuomarila on piano, and Brice Soniano on double bass, they are a dynamic Nordic jazz group that cultivates musical experiences through composition and improvisation. Lionel, Alexi, and Brice have been playing together for over 20 years in various projects.
Keep North was born out of Lionel's project, MOTU, and has since forged its own identity. The trio strives to reveal the truth about improvisation, making a sometimes intimidating branch of jazz more accessible, communal, and groove-oriented.
The group is based on original compositions and their shared passion for jazz, but their passion shines brightest when they take advantage of spontaneous interactions to create collaborative and melodic improvisations.

Martin Alvarado Alexi Tuomarila, Bon Bon Jazz Club Malaga Spain
An intimate meeting of Argentine tango and modern jazz. Buenos Aires–born tango singer Martín Alvarado and Finnish jazz pianist and composer Alexi Tuomarila join forces in a duo, placing the spotlight on their original compositions. Alvarado’s powerful and emotive interpretations draw deeply from tango tradition, while Tuomarila’s sophisticated piano work and free improvisation bring jazz-like expansiveness and modern expression to the music. The duo’s performance is a dialogue where melody, rhythmic freedom, and sensitivity go hand in hand.
